yeah, i don't really judge people too much on their gear, more the stuff i'd listed previously. attitude is the biggest issue.

however, i do feel a little bit embarrassed for someone who gets onstage with loads of expensive gear but can barely play a note in an "all the gear no idea" sort of way. but ultimately it's their money and their hobby so i don't hold it against them. if their attitude stinks and they think owning expensive gear qualifies them to a certain higher echelon of knowledge/snobbery, then it will rub off terribly on them.

So I suck because I dont like censorship, whatever.

I dont think of people negatively because of gear. But smiley face eqs annoy me.

What confuses me is how these people get the thought in their head that they're ready to get on stage when they can't keep time/tune their instrument etc. Anyone can learn and it's not a case of "being shit" but it's like "who's telling you that you're ready for that".

Its just hypocritical to say to that you believe in freedom of speech and then flame someone for using it. I dont want to argue. I just believe that he can say whatever he wants

Utter bullshit. So-called 'Freedom of speech' doesn't give someone the right to just say whatever brainless and unnecessarily offensive shit they want.

do you honestly think saying faggot is in any way a meaningful discourse surrounding free speech other than some bullshit snarky south park-esque catch 22 high school kid way? because that's really how you're coming across.

this isn't about your "inalienable rights" or free speech, it's about ignorant language that marginalises certain people within society, and people calling you out on it. and no country has entirely free speech in the literal sense by the way, and i would never believe in that, but nice straw man :)

you're a kid, still at school, so it's fair enough that you're not really clued up, but you'll change your mind pretty quickly once you go to college or grow up. if you don't, that would be very worrying.

Hahaha i've never seen this but I want to.
Gear is gear, you can play whatever you want and if it sounds good, good. i cringe when I see Deans guitars or Line six amps or the bassist has just a D.I. box. Mostly, though its attitude. My opinion on some groups changed quickly when i saw how dickish/down to earth they were.

maybe one day I will change my mind, but for now this is what I believe. Thank you for not being (for the most part) condescending. Have a nice day.

I don't entirely agree that anyone can learn to tune a guitar. I have never been able to tune a guitar by ear, I doubt I ever will. I can tell when it's out of tune, even when it isn't by much.. Anyone can use a tuner though. I suspect some people will never be able to play in time either.

Yeah, not eceryone "has the ear" but everyone can learn to. It may take a very long time, but its possible. I feel like rythm is easier though.

I can tune about there by ear, but I always end up about 10 cents flat

Well tuners are much more accurate than any human can be. I can tune by ear if I already have one of the strings tuned correctly, I know the changes between strings but not the sound of each note.
