I like both the top and bottom halves, but not together for some reason. Reminds me of Mumm-Ra.

These work WAAAAAY better; the black hardware and pickups on the butterscotch one make everything blend and not just feel like a mutant Tele.

Fucking LOVE that black-metal one.. secret agent pickups? Do an acoustical?

These two are the only two I'd even consider, and they're nothing new really. But £1599...even for being MIA, kinda ridiculous. I can only imagine they'll end up like the Pawn Shop series: Nobody buys them, in a year or two they'll be discontinued, then big box stores will be selling them at a loss to make room for new inventory.

Fender Custom Shop also made one or more a couple of years ago.

But really I saw one in a book that's just like that with a tele headstock and solid finish, made by Schecter in the 80s. I couldn't find any pics on the net.

It's a really basic idea, some may have been made without knowing about others.

I'm a bit fresh, but this may be my favourite post of all time.
That's just a universal truth, man. Something from the Bible, first edition...?

The American Originals are up on Fender's website now:
Fender's website wrote:AMERICAN ORIGINAL ‘60S JAGUAR®

Never resting in our mission to make life better for musicians, we created the short-scale Jaguar guitar in 1962. Originally released as our feature-rich, top-of-the-line electric guitar, it inspired the heroes of the musical underground and hit its stride with surf, punk and alternative guitarists. The American Original ‘60s Jaguar brings that supple sound and slinky playability to life again, slightly tweaked for a modern feel.
  • ALDER BODY WITH LACQUER FINISH
TWO PURE VINTAGE ‘65 SINGLE-COIL JAGUAR PICKUPS
    LEAD/RHYTHM CIRCUIT; BASS-CUT "STRANGLE" SWITCH
AMERICAN ORIGINAL ‘60S JAZZMASTER®

Originally designed to appeal to jazz guitarists with elegant appointments and sophisticated controls, the Jazzmaster found its way into the hands of musical rebels. From surf to punk and indie rock, its flexible sound heralded the call for change and shaped the voice of rebellion. The American Original ‘60s Jazzmaster faithfully recreates the voice and style of this classic guitar, supplementing them with smooth, modern playability.
  • ALDER BODY WITH LACQUER FINISH
TWO PURE VINTAGE ‘65 SINGLE-COIL JAZZMASTER PICKUPS
    "'60S C"-SHAPED NECK PROFILE; 9.5-RADIUS ROUND-LAM ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD
