For me, the VM was lighter than my CIJ, and sounded better. I didn’t like the fretboard edges, but I should just have rolled them really.

I think overall though, I preferred the 7.25� radius of the cij. Which is odd, as I love my jmjm. But yeah, roll the fretboard.

I did that with my Bullet Mustang, definitely improved things!

Put a 60s trem on ive had for ages and the original bridge. Shimmed neck.


I also gave the bridge some tetnus mojo

Obviously relicing is stupid lolz..... but it was too shiny. Now matches my other jag bridge

Found a mute its a 60s one though, so will swap the replica one over thats on my 69.

Nah bro, came like that from the guy a bought it from. Not had my strings delivered yet.

I no longer break strings since I started with bullets.

They stopped making bullets I thought. Fender now uses pastel colored daddario branded strings.

My 60s mute arrived



Admittedly, I do just like the look of the mute on a Jaguar and think it just looks right. But I do like the odd sounds it creates. Am trying to make it work with different pedals for more wackness!

Changed the gross melted rubber for some B & Q weather stripping.



I also stayed up till 4am unwinding the bridge pickup. This was to try and reduce its 11.4 ohms. What a fucking chew on! Got it down to 6.5 ohms without incident. My old Jag is 6.4 in the neck and 6.0 in the bridge so this is close.
Plugged in with headphones before I went to bed...sounded pretty good. But the claws haven't Grounded properly with my shit soldering so I need to sort that out.

I always think the mute looks cool. Never had one myself, don’t think they exist lefty Just like vintage Jags came with righty trems.

Yes. The two screw holes were in the guard but not the body. Unlike the Japanese Jags there was no plunger hole in the guard. So around 11 or 12mm hole drilled into the guard and body about 34mm deep.

Easy job.
