WTF....
I think the Squier part was the error.

On October 25, 2011 Vintage Guitar magazine did review a purple Jazzmaster, The Fender version.

There is a note at the bottom of that article saying:

This article originally appeared in VG October 2007 issue.

Yup... so false alarm. No purple yet.

I agree to stilwel. It's really the best 400$ guitar at all! The neck with his tinted satin finish is just a dream. It's a pleasure to play. The pickups sound very nice! I always have to think on p90s. Really fat and powerful. Not comparable with the singles of a strat or duosonic.

Everyone who likes jazzmasters should try this baby!

The goldpickguard is a little more copper in relation to the cv duosonic guard...

Yeah, I talked to the guy I know at Fender. He said no purple. Doing a purple sparkle finish would raise the cost too much for a Squier.

I just may as well accept i am compelled to buy one of these eventually and i dont know why. Owned several Jazzmasters, dont really want a Jazzmaster, but want this particular model :?

I swear you had a Jazzmaster project lined up a while ago?

A few years ago i was toying with using the shape but opted for the Tele since they sound way better than Jazzmasters and are more workmanlike.

Agreed, though I've never owned a Jazzmaster. I've been wanting a new Fender recently and feel this might do the trick

Somehow this guitar has me more excited than any other Jazzmaster.

I'm not too keen on the copper shielding pickguard though. Does anyone know if it can be straight swapped with a fender jazzmaster guard?

I'm going to email the local stockist about when we're gonna be getting these in. I have the uncontrollable urge to sand one down and spray the pickguard black.

I they look great and I'm sure they sound better than in that guy's demo...not a nice amp sound. But it's pretty much: Jazzy Vs my little brother's christmas. I just hope they do a nice long run of these so I can pick one up for the same price in February or March.

I am highly considering one of these. I've got projects to finish first...but this is on the top of my "new" guitar list.

For the price I see MIJ/CIJ Jazzmasters going for nowadays, and the price of a new classic player...if you bought after market electronics and a trem (maybe $90?...sans rhythm circuit drops that to about $60.), a body from that timbo guy on eBay for $125, and some solid jazzmaster pickups (**cough**novakjm180**cough**), another pickguard and some lacquer, you could get a seriously kick ass guitar for less than the price of a classic player, and have a CP style body, some JM pickups, a gold anodized pickguard, unbranded tremolo and electronics. Cop an all parts baritone conversion neck for the second one and you could have two SERIOUSLY BAD ASS MOTHERFUCKING GUITARS.

...in fact, I think this is a worthy investment...I'm buying one.

I went to PMT in Bristol today and they had one so I had a sit down and spent about 30 minutes playing it. All I can say is wow, its lovely and the matt neck is to die for. A nice thickness that fills the hand perfectly. Sounds lush and full not a plinky as a normal JM can get but i really like the different pickup selections. The finish and fit was spotless and the paint is like an off white cream. I now have serious gas for one of these and I need to think about how to raise funds.

the other thing that blew me away was the supersonic combo I played as well. It was the 22 watt one but over £900 I think that will take a lot longer to get buy this.

also i missed having a play and the cobain jag as someone was buying it when I walked in there.

They had one in Gamlins, Cardiff today. Generally avoid the place, since it's staffed by morons.

That said, the guitar was great. I'm no Jazzmaster expert, but the pickups sounds good. Neck was amazing. Not as thick as my Baja by any means, but felt satisfying.

Didn't get to try the trem ("The bar? It's upstairs mate. Don't know why you'd want to use it though").

i did use the trem for some mbv and it sat nicely in the palm and felt quite sturdy. I think I'm going to sell the roesquier to fund this and a few other things will end up on ebay.
