They are all uploaded. Julian wants to reshoot them asap. He hates his playing in them and he said the camera with the condenser mics was too far away from the amp. I'll get them redone and we know what to fix. They will be twice as good as this next time. I personally thought his playing was excellent. Thanks

New pedal!

I'm cheekily calling this one the King of Klone for now. It's two full klon circuits cascaded in a B-sized enclosure. This is the first prototype, and it works good. Only need to make a couple of minor revisions to the PCB for the next batch.

Is that going to be a production pedal Tim? If so, any idea what the likely cost would be?

Yes, I'm gonna make a few of these. However even with all board-mounted pots they're still a pretty time-consuming build, so I'm selling the plain box ones for £150 and the ones with powder coat and graphics will be a bit more, probably £175.

Bit of an odd one. I'd always more or less regarded my Klon as pretty much part of my amp, in that I have the amp cleanish but pushed, with the Klon in front pushing a wee bit harder to get the best from the amp, and then actual dirt pedals in front of that to give certain sounds. I think of the Klon like half the pre-amp, or as the pre-pre-amp, if that makes sense.

I've never considered the Klon a full dirt pedal that could be cascaded like this. I'd love to hear what it sound like this way. There're few people about on youtube with two of them to show you, like.

Even with both stages on it's still not a wild n crazy pedal. I'm not sure how the guys who use these double klons actually use them in their setup, but it could be that one is always on, and the second is a boost for solos. Or perhaps have one set as a clean boost and one as an overdrive. Having the ability to turn up the gain and cascade them is kinda cool, but there are better pedals for getting that particular sound.

They probably just want to be able to use one for a boost and one for an Overdrive sound and not change the knobs because they have more money than sense

So you're saying I should charge more for this?

The thing that blows me away about the golden eagle is the way harmonics fly off the guitar. It's unreal. I love it and i use it constantly now. It improves tone and gives other effects balls. Great job with this Tim and thanks.

I thought I replied earlier here, but perhaps not. Or at least didn't hit send or somethin'.

Tried out the Golden Eagle out in Vintage and Rare today. I was really impressed !!

I was hoping not to like it as I didn't have the money... so so soo close to being in debt again. I reluctantly left it there, and bought some strings instead... to get my fix.

Think I'll pick up a Zombie or Eagle soon.

Nice! It is a cool sounding pedal (I have nothing to do with the sound, I just try to build them well!) and I've become a full convert to the Klon in all its guises since I started building them. Thanks for trying it in V&R too. People checking my pedals out there improves my standing with them no end :-)

If you'd like an Eagle or Zombie give me a shout and I'll do you a better deal than on my site.

Cheers Owen. Your Golden Eagle will be on its way first thing tomorrow.

Here's a nice pic of the blue-green Zombies at Vintage and Rare in Bath:

Designed a new PCB for the Zombie Klone the other week. Now it uses less wire!

Must get out more.

Should have whacked an extra pad on for the output jack while you were at it?
