Ed out of Bombay Bicycle Club came round to collect his pedalols yesterday. He's got the first new version of the Harmonic Percolator - it simply uses a three-way switch so you can select the clipping diodes. Either Silicon, Germanium or no clipping at all. This makes the distinction between the white/blue/black models even more confusing, so eventually I'll probably just do one HP version, with the 3-way toggley.

THAT is a brilliant idea Timothy.

Can/will you mod older ones?

Cheers fella. I wish I could offer a mod service, but the pots and switch are all board-mounted, so the mod would be pretty much a full rebuild swapping all the gizzards out.

Love your designs (especially the Dresden Fuzz and Green Muff ones).

Do you still make the horizontal Klon clones?

Any idea when the new version of the Harmonic Percolator might be available?

Fanks! The Dresden and Green Muffs use a newsprint-like halftone which works pretty well with single-colour screen printing.

The Zombie Klons are always in production, but I sell them through forums rather than on the FE site. They're £100 shipped in the UK.

The new Harmonic Percolators with the 3-way switch are available now, just ask if/when you order.

Introducing the Fredric Effects King of Klone. £180/$275. This batch is limited to five pedals!

The King of Klone combines two full klone circuits (charge pump, buffer intact) cascaded in a normal B-sized enclosure.

The pedals are hand-wired, the twin PCBs are our own design and the enclosures are powder coated gold.

Sound-wise, it's identical to the well-regarded Fredric Effects Zombie Klone (and the Golden Eagle) only there's two of them!

I'm working on my "spirit in the sky" cover for the song comp and the unpleasant companion nailed it. I went with my les paul (i know already but it has a kill switch for the stutters and harmonic bends) and a tube pignose that has been modded and that was it. It was there. It was more than i had hoped for. It's way over the top and perfect.. I'm going to try bass into scrambled brainz and then direct in using a tech 21 para. I don't need a terrible amount of fuzz on bass and that blend function is a winner. I'll let you know how that goes..Thanks a million Tim. You always fix me up.

Nice! I think the real Spirit in the Sky pedal is a Maestro FZ-1, but most of those prehistoric fuzzes can get pretty close. Nowt wrong with Les Pauls either!

Do you powder coat these yourself Tim?

Ah no, that's not really possible. Powder coating requires a spray gun and a booth and it's really messy and gets everywhere. Then you need a huge oven to cook the stuff and ample space to allow it to cool. I used to get these done locally in Barnet, but the experienced staff left the company I was dealing with and the new idiots f-ed up a bunch of pedals. I currently use a company in Tottenham to powder coat the enclosures, then get them screen printed by another company in Leighton Buzzard. I'm wondering if I can claim a more economical car as a business expense!

Anyway, for the moment everyone's doing a good job on the painting and drilling front. Here are some Foxrites I collected the other day:

But then you would pay commercial vehicle insurance rates?

I'm thinking about going down the powder coat route at some point in the future. It does seem like unless you have a fair amount of space you have to contract it out locally and do the legwork yourself to make it affordable.

Oh yeah, don't even think about powder coating stuff yourself. It's not feasible in any way.

Johno - good point! Although lying is an option. I guess it's not a problem unless you have a prang

Tim are these based on the trem that I had off you before? I sold that to JW in Hookworms and loved the sound of it

Yep, that's the one! Very slightly modified Schaller Tremolo (hence the West Germany). I do love the sound of these.

How much will you be selling them for Tim?
