I love it when you find someone new on flickr with a really good photostream. I've just been looking through this guys stream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/guillaumebaurand/page1/

Lots of medium format goodness. I love the landscape shots:

I really struggle with landscapes I mostly find them a bit boring. Although there are some nice ones there!
I spend a good while on someones flickr today, his favorites were all really cool. I sometimes find that's the best way to see some great images, is to find someone you like and then search their fav's.
In other news I set up a tumblr and facebook today :( to be honest I think it is a real bore and just self promotion. I am not really taking myself that seriously but I would be nice to get more feedback and hopefully grow because of it. It is a arse posting to all these sites though. thankfully I have tumblr set up to auto post pictures to facebook and I can easyily get flickr to post pictures to tumblr.
Tumblr I am using kinda like a portfolio kinda just really simple with just images.

There is naff all on the facebook but please like the page or whatever.

Hmm yeah landscapes can be boring. I like his though. I usually associate landscapes with wider format ratios so it's always cool to see some square/medium format landscape shots.

You should try getting a few photos printed and hung in a local arty cafe or something. With some price tags on them. I reckon you could easily do it, your photos are fab. Also I think a lot of places would like that vintage/grainy look that you have in them.

I dunno about that but I would like to get into printing.

I have a old sunlight enlarger that prints postcard size prints. I wanna do coffee printing. I have everything to do it now apart from a couple of ingredients for the coffee developer. and the paper.

I start uni again tomorrow which means I will be out of the house and in the city center a lot more. I'm gonna have my camera in my bag and I'm hoping I'll be taking lots of photos again... But until then I've added a few photos to my flickr from earlier in the summer that I haven't uploaded before. I always go back and look at a set of photos and see new ones that I had previously over-looked. I quite like these 3:

This is cool. It reminds me of Knockturn Alley in Harry Potter haha.

No problem :)

Thanks. I added some fake grain in PS, something I don't usually like to do but I thought it worked with the gritty back-alley scene.

Was going through the last few pages of this thread again the other day and realised I hadn't said about liking this photo. It's class. It looks like a plane how you don't normally see them. It looks mean as fuck or something, like you've caught up to something on its own time that you shouldn't have.

Yeah it is quite strange being able to walk right up to a plane and see it so close. You sometimes forget just how massive they are. The plane in the photo is also pretty small compared to the huge jumbo jets you get now. Crazy when you think of them flying in the sky hah.

These light-painting photos from the 70s are pretty amazing: http://www.petapixel.com/2012/09/24/bea ... the-1970s/

It's a really nice day today, blue skies, pretty warm. So I went out this afternoon for a short walk around the Castlefield area of Manchester. Just 2mins from the busy shopping area of Deansgate, but totally different. Beautiful area, I would love to live in one of the converted mills around here...
