Behringer is shit.

They make some good stuff. But obviously their quality control and overall durability leaves something to be desired.

Anyone using them is cheaping out. They're not superior to anything in any way.
You're so wrong it's untrue.

IN YOUR EXPERIENCE OF ONE PEDAL you're basing this. Which is retarded.

And when it comes to paying $400 for a Boss VB-2 on ebay hell YES Behringer is superior. WTF is cheaping out anyway? Oh I feel sooo much better for paying more money for the exact same sound - that was worth doing. What a stupid argument.

I say again, Eurorack mixer, bought it 8 years ago, still going strong - sounds brilliant.

I bought some pioneer headphones(the DJ ones) cost around 100 quid. I used them alot and they broke about 6 months down the line.
I was poor so I had to buy cheap headphones for recording combo like rambo I went with behringer. they sound the good enough (I wish I had got the closed ones though now) and they still work and have not broke 2 years down the line and I treat them like shit!

Behringer tremolo sounded fantastic I used it for a while till I got bored and tried to bend it and smoke came out of it and it died...My fault lesson learned.

behringer acoustic modeller still alive and kicking after it was abused in the notorious video. Interesting fact I actually did all that abuse twice as I wanted to test it before I hit record. sound wise I havent experienced any of teh problems that nick did. It doesn't make you sound exactly like an acoustic and there is a little hiss on certain settings but it still does what it is supposed too.

behringer ultra vibrato sounds fuckin BOSS! Heheh and It is had been used allot on my board still kicking!

behringer noise surpresser does a fantastic job of bucking hum and hiss. fantastic.

behringer super fuzz my favourite dirt pedal at the moment I was even thinking of getting another one as I love the gain mode better that my moen dirt pedal.

In short In my experience behringer have provided me with great products that did not cost an arm and leg. I am not some cheapo who never pays top dollar for gear. I own or have owed a zvex fuzzfactory a zvex loop junkie ,spacestation xp1000 jetpackmod, vintage fender jaguar vintage duo sonic, 2 poly chorus's memory man, vintage clone theroy vintage electric mistress fender blender etc etc etc

So in short if the sounds are there I will pay the big bucks, however if the sounds can be found in something that costs a fraction of gear normally does you bet you arse I will go with the ''cheap option''
I love behringer because they give anyone the opportunity to have all the music options available to them be you rich or poor.
The only thing that can stand in your way is how much of a snob you are. snobs are cunts and I WANT NOUT TO DO WITH THEM!

Im going to own an behringer piece of equipment, but if I had more money I would've bought some Vox Bulldog or Hughes and kettner, yes.. but I dont so, Im just going to try it out, I hope itll be fine.. for my little budget its a chance to get some nice noises, and I dont think its bad, when I get a job etc, Im going to get those hardcore snob pedals too.. cause of course they have something better, but for now theyr overpriced.. I think so.. yes. so for me (now) behringer is better, and danelectro and similar companies.

Don't delude yourself mate. trust me, bigger price doesn't mean better sound! People who tell you that just want to justify the stupid amount of money that they spent on overpriced junk.

It's like clothes if you buy designer clothes are they gonna make you less naked than cheaper no name clothes? HECK NO BRETHREN!!!

well not in the overall, I understand.. Im not defending, but for example the designer clothes will be better "cut" for Your body and better materials.. not all.. but there will be difference.. You will be able to wear it longer etc.. but yes, if in latvia the gear checking out would be better, I suppose I would come to a conclusion, than there really isnt so big of a difference, cant wait till summer, when I ll get to germany or somewhere to try out all kinds of gear and get a conclusion.. but yes, Hurb You have tried a lot of gear, so I totally agree with You.

Sorry I'm not picking but that really isn't the case haha I don't wanna get in to a clothes argument(even if I started it) but the only way to get clothes to fit better is to get them tailored(I e custom!) as for clothes wearing out less if they cost more? no.
haha sorry but I am a clothes reverse snob too!

There is true madness being talked by some people here, I've got the Behringer boost pedal for, well boosting things, woks well, cost me 12 quid, don't think you put it together yourself much cheaper than that.

but really, not available in the US? that fucking sucks

I have a behringer tremolo pedal. can not complain. this does everything I would want a tremolo to do. don't really see the point in paying more than this except if you want a "vintage" tremolo (which I don't).

I also have the behringer MIC100 tube mic preamp. This thing is so cool. I know nothing about mic preamps really but this thing was one of the cheapest I could find and it has a lot little buzzes and whistles. I haven't tried it as a guitar preamp yet but I think it would work well.
aen wrote:the fellow at Brickhous emusic tells me NONE of the COOL behringers are being allowed in the US. Fuck.
that's not true. go to the behringer website and look at the release dates for the pedals. they just come out a little later for the US market.

actually, I take that back..... where it would normally say "available Q3 2008" or something it just "not available" for a lot of these more recent pedals. damn. that sucks big time. maybe they'll change it. If effing musicians friend would carry them I bet then they'd change it.

Copyroght, yo. Laws and such prevent them being osld in the US i bet.

..doh.. finger slipped.

always wanted the PS-5 but was just too much when it first came out (seem to recall £150??)

and yes, i do just want it to play the 'invincible' solo :)

will try to A/B it with my pog (interesting to see if a £35 pedal can track octaves as well as the ehx monster...).. or just combine it in some awesome harmonised goodness... or see how the pog tracks the aliased harmonies over chords.. or try going +1 octave with the behringer and then -1 octave with the pog.... mmmmmmmmmwwwhaaaaaa haaaaaa

If it's just a PS-5 copy, it wont- the "Pitchshift" mode is polyphonic but always sounds kinda wobbly- the "Harmony" mode sounds a lot cleaner for the actual pitchshifting/octave effect, but since it's not polyphonic, anything other than octave shapes will throw it into Glitchytown. Which sounds cooool in its own right.

indeed doog, i wish there was a demo out there that shows just how glitchy it can get but they're all pussies who use it for teh metalz tap soloz so far

i actually realised music shops over here are closed on mondays and it's fucking monday dammit, will have to wait until tomorrow, most german online stores have it in stock for 50 euros tho but if i can find it here...

Man they've got so many of them. I'm tempted to buy a few including the shifter since I'm selling my Whammy.
