You love Sub? The only Sub's done is let it collect dust. I made the damb thing for ya......
You're right, I love you very much too DDDave, but I hope you already know that. :) The love for Sub was that he said he's just ordered paint and is going to collect it, that makes me very excited. :D Plus the more love I give Sub, the better the finish will be, ey? ;)

This whole project is so awesome, I am so proud to say I am receiving an SS.org custom guitar. As controversial as it is, I really do recognise the skill in NoHo's work, and from what I've seen Sub is very talented with the paints, I feel privileged to get a piece of custom Shortscale art, because that's what it is.

Can anyone suggest a good source for third party Fender necks? I want to get a '70s style Fender bullet neck with a maple board, and gloss would be nice. Where's best?
Well Ok then.......

:D

Then I would be truly honoured to receive this neck as part of the project. :D

haha. its "DAMN", dave.

But yeah. Daves pulled in the hours for the most part. My moment of truth comes tomorrow when it gets painted. Hopefully you like what I ended up getting.

Isn't the bridge a toploader?

Ferrules are notoriously hard to drill.

Hmm, it looks a bit like that, I hope it's just the picture. I've got DDDFaith! Even so, that's vaguely fixable with the ferrules themselves, right?

Nothing that some masking tape, a few toothpics and some gorilla glue can't fix!

I was in awe. Can anyone blame me for wanting white desperately?
I agree, she's awesome. There's much more going on with her than what you hear on regular rotation. Very talented, they're trying to spin her in to the new Lilly Allen or somesuchnonsense but I think she's got real talent.

Hey Sub, how soon do you wetsand/buff after clearcoating? You do use Poly, right?

It depends on the clear you use. The laquer on the malikaster was ready for wetsanding way earlier than the ~20 hours I took.

I have the body right now in terms of the ferrule holes, theyre all fine except for one thats slightly bigger. I'm certain that the installation of the ferrules will conceal it just fine. It'll be getting to Robroe soon.

My face -> :o

Wow, that is actually so beautiful. Sparkly white? That colour is the next big thing. This guitar is going to be the shit! That looks like such an amazing finish, I just love the way I can see reflections in it! :D If I come to your neck of the woods, remind me to buy you a drink, or like, infinite drinks forever. I could not have asked for a nicer finish, I was still expecting metallic black but that thing blows it out of the water.

I noticed the ferrules are cool after seeing that picture of the back, they looked somewhat skewed but all is good, I am sorry for ever suspecting you DDDave. ;)

Seriously, everything looks top notch so far and I can't wait to see it come together. I am amazed how good the body shape looks, it grows on me every time I see it. Sub, how does it feel to "play", as in the shape and comfort of it? It sure as hell looks comfortable. As soon as it gets to Robroe I'm going to pass on a list of parts I need him to order for me and send across the payment for it, it turns out I can only set my alternative delivery address to another address in the UK, which is inconvenient. It's going to look so pretty with a bridge pickup, knobs, a toggle and a lovely smooth neck, but of course that's all down to our man RobOG. :)

I could go on about this thing all day, I seriously could. Again, thank you so much for the time, money and effort invested into this guitar. I am going to rock this thing so hard in the honour of everyone who's contributed, I promise.
