And what the fuck is wrong with that? If they work and people are happy to buy them, where's the point of arguement? It's not like all these TS808-copy manufacturers aren't doing the exact same thing. But for soooooooome reason, they're exempt from this criticism. The power of MOJOARROWS.
Stupid tossers. That's what paying several hundred pounds for an OD box will do to you- reduced cranial activity.

Would I could I want? You mean see if they're clones?

Nah, you're off base. They criticise the shit out of people that pedal 808 copies, they pretty much hate all builders. These are comments from a DIY pedal website, not TGP

I had a brief play with them just now before I go out. They're both very nice, but it's the Fuzz that impresses me most to be honest. I'll make demos of them at some point.

Mike buys a fuzz and an overdrive and likes the fuzz more.

Chris, just get back on it, it's never too late to start again, you don't need a workbench - my setup is inauspicious, I have to pack everything under the bed every night when I'm done - I use the kitchen table to work on with newspaper spread around.
Yeah. As soon as I figure out what I did with all of my parts I probably will. I need a boost and another dirt box anyway.

Danelectro wrote:I read about the Cool Cat and Tim controversy last night.
Here is what we are doing about it:
1, I have requested the factory in the Far East who makes these for us to provide us schematics at once. I have today called my good friend who is an excellent engineer and asked him to do an independent review of all the Cool Cat circuits, starting with the transparent overdrive in order to:
a, improve our design in every way possible
and
b, make sure our design is not a clone of anyone else?s
2, If it is true that our design is a clone of the Tim, I have told Paul C that we will change our design as expeditiously as possible to not conflict with his.
Thank you for this opportunity to respond.

This was posted on HCFX and is a confirmed message from Danelectro. It looks like they're going to investigate and redesign/pull the Transparent Overdrive from production.
So everyone who bought one, your pedal is about to become extremely valuable. I would advise people who were on the fence to just drop the £30 and get one, if only for the limited edition Kudos of it. It'll be worth something in the future I'm sure.
Paul Cochrane has confirmed he's been contacted by Danelectro about it and that they will work together to resolve it.
Even if Danelectro do nothing but SAY that it has been changed, the original pre-Change pedals (whether the Change occurs or not) should attain some value I would say.
Interesting that everyone (elsewhere, not here, I hasten to add) is up in arms in support of Paul Cochrane, but no one is that bothered about Fran from Frantone. I can only surmise that this is either because a) She's a lady, and we hate girls, or b) The Peach Fuzz costs $325.
I'm going back to that shop with the pedals and a print off of this thread, and seeing if they'll do a straight swap for the Hiwatt. But remember; talk to the dad.
I don't know anything about Frantone and much less that it was run by a woman. My preconceived idea of Frantone as a brand was that they were a very large boutique brand, maybe that's not the case. Also I think I confuse themin my dyslexia addled brainbox with Pete Frampton. And y'know.. FUCK Peter Frampton.
$325 for a Fuzz is absurd.
$129 for a Handbuilt Overdrive is not.
