Nah, you're off base. They criticise the shit out of people that pedal 808 copies, they pretty much hate all builders. These are comments from a DIY pedal website, not TGP

There is a lot of negativity and douchbaggery there but also a lot of very keen minds and clever and helpful people. It is a great resource.

I had a brief play with them just now before I go out. They're both very nice, but it's the Fuzz that impresses me most to be honest. I'll make demos of them at some point.

I have made better overdrives than this one. Fuzzes too like, but it's nice.

This was posted on HCFX and is a confirmed message from Danelectro. It looks like they're going to investigate and redesign/pull the Transparent Overdrive from production.
So everyone who bought one, your pedal is about to become extremely valuable. I would advise people who were on the fence to just drop the £30 and get one, if only for the limited edition Kudos of it. It'll be worth something in the future I'm sure.

Paul Cochrane has confirmed he's been contacted by Danelectro about it and that they will work together to resolve it.
Even if Danelectro do nothing but SAY that it has been changed, the original pre-Change pedals (whether the Change occurs or not) should attain some value I would say.

Interesting that everyone (elsewhere, not here, I hasten to add) is up in arms in support of Paul Cochrane, but no one is that bothered about Fran from Frantone. I can only surmise that this is either because a) She's a lady, and we hate girls, or b) The Peach Fuzz costs $325.
I'm going back to that shop with the pedals and a print off of this thread, and seeing if they'll do a straight swap for the Hiwatt. But remember; talk to the dad.

I don't know anything about Frantone and much less that it was run by a woman. My preconceived idea of Frantone as a brand was that they were a very large boutique brand, maybe that's not the case. Also I think I confuse themin my dyslexia addled brainbox with Pete Frampton. And y'know.. FUCK Peter Frampton.
$325 for a Fuzz is absurd.
$129 for a Handbuilt Overdrive is not.
