And check your figures. Didn't realise you had a Poll. White is in the lead, as it should be.

hahaha I demand a recount! Will give it til the end of the poll and see what the result is, make a decision and then will reveal all when the paint is done.

STOP PRESS: how about this?:

no shpanks. maybe with a dark tort or black, but certainly not with red tort. i mean i'm not saying i wouldn't play it, but there are so many combi's i would have before that.

A few pics of the renovation of the body. There were many chips and some big old dents in the thing which if it were the original finish I'd have just left but refinishing over them would not have looked cool in my mind. The whole thing has been laboriously sand and sealed with shellac by hand and is now smooth as you like. You can see dark patches and dings where I've filled using superglue and sanding dust. Worst offenders were on the top horn amd around the thimbles where gouging had occurred whilst someone tried to pull them out:

Almost there...

This is the final sanding - you can see the shiny spots denoting dips - that sheeeit needs to go entirely before paint goes on:

Well here is the tort guard i got from James (thanks dude) and this is what was the decider in moving away from comp orange. It was super gnarly and scratched deeply which on a gnarly old original body would be ace however since the body will be pretty nice and I couldn't give two fucks for pussyfooting around the issue I decided to see if I can renovate the plate. Some heavy handed postman managed to split between the switch and pup holes and it arrived one on top of the other. Grrr.

I essentially sanded down the plate removing the majority of the scratches, used epoxy glue mixed with the cellulose dust from the sanding to patch all splits and chips (mainly where the screws go) and that's were I'm still at. Needs to be taken up to at least 2000 grit now and buffing/polishing. looking good to me:

As i said still final sanding and polishing needed on the guard and a couple of areas to be sanded ont he body but I'm pretty much ready to paint:
