Dang, that bridge pickup has gotta be trebley, spesh on the treble side! Soooo close to the bridge. Looks purdy though.
Exact position as on a telecaster, sounds like a telecaster, too ;-)

It's defo a little closer to the bridge, but maybe the "tiny bit of scratchplate" underneath make it looks like more of a difference, versus the standard pickup-mounted-in-bridge Tele steez.

@doog: I measured the distance from the nut to the pickup, then did the same for my guitar -> same distance. Maybe my bridge is a tiny bit more backwards, but then the saddles had to be screwed more forward, so no difference.
Dunno, maybe difference in the photographed distance?
But all in all totally unimportant if 2 mm nearer or more far away, sounds teleish and good, not TOO harsh :-)

That would be just a bit too much I think.

Mine would be pretty much like this.
independant on/off swich for each pickup, master volume.

70's style U neck profile, preCBS strat head, tele bridge/bridge pickup, strat neck pickup angled, LP layout on the controls, some kind of trem (put bigsby here but would just as soon have a Jag trem if it's my signature, never used a bigsby).

Image

It would come in that colour scheme and also sunburst with a tort guard (which would have white pickup cover on the strat unit and a white-bobbin tele pickup). On the back there'd be me engraved with a shit eating grin giving a thumbs up or something. That's like my seal of approval, I don't want my signature just printed on it somewhere (can you say conceited?)

Looks like a heap of fun, Paul. I'd love to see what either Girl Guitars or James Trussart could do with your arrangement, all rusted up and and stuff.

I miss the chrome so much on that, the upper section of the pickguard is like a beach and the pickups look remote as a result.

I can't help but think everything about a stock shell pink jaguar looks nicer.

sexier indeed!
i noticed the same thing. i moved the bridge pup a little farther back to try and compensate.

Thanks for shopping it :D
haha, np. i thought it might have an interesting look and i like little projects like that. or maybe i want to make dreams come true!!!

get it prog. get it.
In order for it to work in real life the bridge needs to come the equivalent of three centimeters closer to the neck though...

Nice design though!

It would most likely be a Jazzuar with Jag looks but 25,5 scale, jag pickups with the bridge pickup slightly further from the bridge to get a less spiky sound.

Teal green w matching headstock, mop guard, bound neck with block inlays, mastery bridge and some nice high end pickups

+ some sensible use of the rhythm controls, such as a really good humdefeating circuit ready for use if one ends up in a venue where single coils hum too much.
