The neck is shipping, I sincerely hope - Kurt at Rondo kindly sold me a used neck from a 3/4 P bass for cheap. Am thinking this will make things easier since it's a B width nut to my knowledge.
Anyway - I'd like to declare this project formally opened. I have put a request for people to sell me the hardware I need on the Classifieds - this might be the time for you guys'n'gals to clear out some MIJ Jag hardware and upgrade to vintage spec!

(and yes, I know, the Agile VI has kind of stolen my thunder!)

I know ... but to ship that here would be about $150 - I can buy the neck and the body for that money. Depending on the budget for hardware etc., I can probably build something which is exactly what I want, for the same money or less. Plus I get to find out if I have the skills to get into building more.MatthewK wrote:(and yes, I know, the Agile VI has kind of stolen my thunder!)

Playing with the Jazz outline and my previous diagram - I think I can achieve this slightly shortened body design, I'm wondering if I might call it a Mustang VI. Both horns are reshaped, Jag control plate, SX shortscale P neck, reshaped headstock, Mustang vibrato:
And the colour reference - daphne / mint / rosewood:
