Behringer do a big muff clone, it's called the behringer 'vintage distortion'. Apparently they're ok...

i think it's to easy too say it can be done with fuzz topped heavy distortion , there's nuances in there, great sounding feedback and some sort of fuzz that does a bit of octaving up like a fuzz factory, keeps definition so well, maybe a sub too but it fucking sounds tight not all warbley like boss oc2 or behringer ps600.
it's probably not just a single effect going into a distorted amp but a combination of boost, fuzz and whatever else to make it sound like this.
behringer make big muff clones, a dod death metal sound cool, but it's not this sound anyway just different sounds that are also nice if you know how to adjust it but. i still think if you want a fuzz that sounds organic, warm, hairy yet defined enough you're not gonna find it for 50eur...sadly

less_c, have you though about looking at a kit to make yourself? I know you can pick up some some of the pedals you mention that might cover what you want (throw in the danelectro cool cat fuzz in to your possibles).

Kim, I understand you seekin. I think that what you are looking for isn't a single pedal. I read an interview with Roger Mayer where he said they used to spend ages with hendrx looking in to what to use to boost the signals to his fuzz pedals. The variations are endless.

well. yes & no. its longer term thing but i was gonna get a BYOC kit to use as a stepping-stone for building pedals. but not for this purpose no. i was just kind of interested in what ppl would mention. if they mentioned anything.
