Stove with an extractor hood makes for a very effective solder station in a house with an overactive smoke alarm.

Took some natural light photos:

The guard's weird - looks really pronounced in the photos, no way near so contrasting in real life. It's the one part of the guitar I'm not sure of though; might speak to him and see what I could clean it off a bit with. If it comes to it, it's just an Allparts guard so I could replace it.

it does make it look like a french fancy, albeit a tasty one.

It looks grand Tim. Now that you've been able to play it, how does the neck compare to that of the Gordon Smith?

Well, they're both pretty big, and they've utterly fucked up my frame of reference for other guitars; it's maybe a little deeper than the GS (it's very much 1" all the way up with no taper - the GS is slightly shallower at the nut), and is more C shaped the the GS's D - the fretboard edges arerolled a little bit. Also, the nut is lovely and wide without feeling like a classical guitar. They're different enough that I'll play the both, which is a relief - I was aware when I got the GS that I was buying Gibson's tele equivalent, but that as a fan of teles, there would be another one in my life sometime in the future.

This has to be the greatest tele i've ever seen. Good stuff, benecol. Every guitar I've seen you post has been class. Group shot in the near future?
