most people would say that vintage is pre-1980
i'd almost say its getting to be pre-1990
though the cyclone and the tornado being discontinued, or even the jag-stang to an extent..

I have no idea what the neck on my Comp Stang is, probably poly - and I'm guessing the Jag is nitro. They both are lovely, both different - both rock.
your compstang is definitely poly and your jag's definitely nitro.
also, hagstroms are good guitars if you can cope with the slightly odd necks (i couldn't).

Featuring the important phrase "reserve not met".
MAYBE YOU COULDN'T SEE THAT THROUGH YOUR EYES FULL OF HATE.
I was bidding on that mainly for a bit of fun, incase I got a crazy good deal.
Think I bid up to £220-240.
£346 for a vintage instrument is just madness, you can't but anything Fender near that apart from the wacky new Chinese beings.
Advice, Bid on anything that isn't directly referenced too any big time band I say. Mega deals galore !!

Indeed. Musicmasters have been the last of the
good deals for some years now, as far as playability goes they hold their own with vintage Jags and Stangs as well.

Yeah, that musicmaster was a good deal. A bit pissed off I missed it. I'm currently looking at a black '77 bronco, £400. Don't know if the seller will post it though...

is there any of us SSers close to where it is to go collect and then post it on?

Bronco's usually go for more due to rarity and the Arthritic Monkeys connection.
The rosewood fretboard on them things is very thin, but they are nice necks. I have a 70's one on my home made Jag-Stang.

I love how affordable Musicmasters are. My current MUSIC MASTER is the best guitar ever. The neck feels like sex-magic.

I think it's mad that Thomas' Bronco is £50 cheaper than a Japanese Jag. Personally if it were me and had some spare funds I'd be buying every just slightly obscure vintage instrument right now. I reckon there is money to be made in the near future when the economy reverses itself.

I just love the fact that all of our guitars never end up leaving the family, we sell them to each other more often than outside the family.
