I have a Digiorgio Estudante classical acoustic that was made in Brazil in 1992. It was my first acoustic so it got pretty beat up and abused, but despite all the paint, cracks and extra holes in it now it still plays and sounds beautiful.

Maybe (approximate) age of guitars/ time owned? Brand would be another one--some mentioned it in this survey; some didn't. Or short scale/ full scale, maybe. Perhaps that's already been done, though.

Amps ? Bit more of a grey area... sometimes even tricky to know. Made in / Assembled in / parts from / Sent from / Sloan touched etc.... so maybe not.

I haven't even replied so I can't really talk about what surveys should be done, but it would be nice if this one included when they were made, so that we could see for instance how many American guitars from the seventies there are compared to the sixties, or how many Japanese guitars there are from the eighties/nineties and whether that market, or value, had shifted to China or Indonesia in the noughties.
I find it difficult trying to do this survey because my guitars are a bit all over the place at the minute,

i'd be interested to know what colour finish people's fender/squier guitars are (i choose these specifically because A. i like them B. they have a pretty well defined collection of colours and C. due to the nature of this board there are a lot of them).
i guess it's a bit more mundane, but i'm curious to know how the general trend of most common colours nowadays (i.e. black, sunburst, red etc) compares to the overall taste of SS folk.

The Japanese and USA made stuff are great. The only thing I find with the Chinese and Korean stuff is that the elctronics let them down. The Finish is first class, the routing is a bit rough and ready but, I just wish they would spend an extra £20 -£50 on better pots, caps, swictches and jack sockets to save me the work! Epiphones are a perfect example, my SG and Les Paul look great and are very nice bits of wood. The play fantastic, the pick-ups are decent but the stock wiring and components just suck!
