Morley Deluxe Distortion, ya know because "Morley men do it with their feet". Still have it, but haven't used it since the 80's.

a distortion pedal which doubled as a mini amp on its own. they're like $20 now, got it for $40 early 2000s. I needed a pedal to switch to distortion on the fly on my fender frontman 25w.

I was hooked.

Within a week or so I went to the discount bin and grabbed a bespeco weeper (woof), dod chorus (not so bad), and danelectro phaser (the little blue one). I had a sick board and was ready to conquer the world.

I still use the bacon and eggs as a mini amp on the couch from time to time, surprisingly loud.

My very first pedal was a Morley Fuzz Wah, it was a piece of shit. My second pedal however was a Green Russian Big Muff. I vowed after the first pedal to never have a shit pedal I didn't like ever again.

I think my basis for choosing this one was because it was bright and orange, said "Distortion" in big clear letters on it, and it was the cheapest pedal, plus the only one I really knew what it did.

then after the DS-1 broke (because it was pretty shit or something, don't remember), I bought a Behringer Vintage Distortion (Big Muff copy) and enjoyed that for a while, and i also asked my mom to buy me this

and it was awesome. I love my Turbo RAT, I will always consider it my first pedal.
