Holy fucking shit, that guy rules but that Stagemaster is my IDEAL shredder - how did I not know about it before? Sloan - you are a GOD.

Fucking love Paul Gilbert, he seems really down to earth. Dimebag is perhaps my favourite of all the fast fuckers though, he picks so cleanly.

Seriously, first thing he said is start with an upstroke and it's a massive improvement already.

Yeah anyone who hates on Gilbert must have a heart of ice. He's humble and funny with it.
George - here's some INSANE chops on a strat type... 1:01 to 1:06 is the best thing I've ever seen anyone do on a guitar. It's fucking slick as an otters nuts.
I'm going through all my old shred exercises to build on my playing technique which has started to wain a little. I'll be calling upon Martin Goulding, Paul Gilbert, Vai, Satch and Guthrie Govan licks and exercises.
At the moment I'm really digging Animals as Leaders and T.R.A.M. at the moment for all my shred needs. Tosin Abasi is a great guitarist.

Gilbert's all about the alternate picking EVERYTHING. Really hard to do to begin with, but it really does make a difference to the sound.

Sorry one last vid before I bore everyone to death....as some will know, I nearly gave up playing guitar once due to serious RSI in my index finger......one video totally reignited the FUN for me and got me back into guitars and hence into short scales as a means to counteract the finger problem.... THIS
I am literally just on fig 1c on that first Gilbert video
The amazing thing with these guitarists, particularly Yngwie is that there is no drama on the fretboard. It's like they're not even moving their fingers.

I give george 2 weeks before he starts littering shortscale with comments like 'jus one note from Jeff Beck, man, just one note"

Noice!
I remember seeing a picture in a guitar mag of loads of guitar gods plectrums...I think they were all laid out on a card backing and each plectrum had a signature underneath. The exception was Jeff Beck's which had no plectrum, just his writing saying "Plectrums are for pussies".
