The Preacher is not bad actually, although looks like a belming SG.
I'm currently trying to stop looking at this. Switch the pickups around it looks like it would tick all my boxes and be a proper bigboy grownup blues/rockabilly lawyer guitar

THIS looks decent for the price.
It doesn't have the rotary selector like older models and the colour is very meh but still interesting.

Reason I recommended the Viper over the preacher was due to the single coils. I hated the look of the Viper too at first but once I played it and plugged it in I felt like I was losing money by not buying it.
Unfortunately once I got it home it just had too many guitars to compete for my affection once the honeymoon was over. Kinda wish I still had it.
I've never seen one of these before, I dunno if it's overpriced but I bet you could Doog the hell out of it!

I getcha, man; sometimes the most homely guitars can be the most solid and reliable, but sometimes, you just gotta have a little razzmatazz, am i rite?

New one on me too! Not sure I wanna go 7 string just yet (despite effectively playing a 6-string setup as a 7) but that's pretty nifty!

Those "solidbody" Gretsch models are fucking sweet. Wanted one for a while now. Like a Les Paul but... cooler.

Yeah, they really caught my eye, especially in that colour. Not sure about it being a set neck (generally heavier and more fragile, so less gigbag-friendly) but we'll see.
They're on sale for £680 or something in GAK, and my assistant manager friend there said he'd be able to help me out a bit should I ever want to purchase something..
The thought of Bigsby-ing a low A is making me feel funny.

Ah, they're the slightly more expensive Electromatic models, then? Not sure what exactly sets them apart from the £400 versions, other than the slightly different neck pickups.
I've had my Epiphone tuned down to Bb for a few weeks now, bigsbying those notes is pretty amazing.

They don't have the centre block, no HiLo'Tron in the neck, ugmo neck inlays and, most importantly, NO GREEN

I've always loved the look of Gretsches since I started playing guitar and always really wanted one (or more) but I don't think I've ever actually played one.

I wanted one of those for a while because I just love the green, and Gretsch is so cool. I played one, though, and was unimpressed at the quality for the price. Not terrible by any means, but, it's about on par with Epiphone or Schecter guitars that are half the price. The pickups are nice, but to me it didn't feel or look any better than their budget models. To each their own though; you might not care about that kind of thing at all as long as it plays nice (which it did). I just feel they should be sold brand new at used prices, because at $849 US, IMO you're paying for the Gretsch name.
That reminds me, I would sooner have this, and put filtertron clones in it. Although it's nothing like a DC and I have no idea if you can get them in the UK. It's also a 14" radius neck and has big frets...not for everyone, but you could easily do an neck swap.

those gretsch guitars have shit clubby necks and the pickups are pretty meh. really wanted to like the double jet but couldn't get on with it
also bigsby are a bit crap in general in my opinion. look great but impractical and unreliable compared to a jazzy trem
quite like the look of the new framus hollywood range myself, not tried them though
