I play through a marshall lead 100 mosfet and i fucking love it.
so what there's pretty much no EQ, the reverb sucks and the overdrive channel is junk, once you turn the clean channel to around 8 it's loud as sin with amazing crunch that I love.

where's the mosfet love? :(

And MGs are suprisingly good for the money. I can get a better metal sound outta my MG than I can my VC30.
My MG is an ok amp for cheap and is very effective, but it is more metal than any thing else.

I have a Marshall AVT275X Advanced ValveState. I really like it. Needs to be cranked. Acoustic simulation is pretty crap though and some on-board fx are also.

Even with no valves in the power amp, it does sound better when you actually play it loud dude.... i think so anyway. Better at band pactice than in my bedroom. You don't think so?

Yeah... I get you there. That's why you must invest in a mini-stack of any amp...
Almost any amp sounds wayyy better cranked. 8)

Cheers "the dude". But seriously the AVT series are good amps. Mines seriously loud. I dunno if they still make them tho.. Would love to upgrade to proper valve amp. All in good time.

"dude" works or even josh i guess.
but yeah I'm not sure if avt amps are still made I'm sure the forum's own Mike Livesley would know. Cheers w/ the amp.

The AVT sounds better when it's louder precisely because it's louder. No other reason. I've beed bedroom rocking and gigging with a half stack one for five years. I think it sounds better loud because you get the chance to hear the bassiness of a 412 that you don't really get at bedroom levels.

Sounds like the Bass equivalent of the Lead 12 Solid State amp I got as my first amp (and I still have the guts), great sounding thing. I'm going to turn it into a head I think. They're really great amps, and rightly respected. I converted mine into a 1x10" cabinet for my tiny terror but I kept the chassis also, some of the pots are scratchy but I think I'll service it one of these days.

I have a JVM 410H that's jsut amazing. Gets great clean tones as well as hard distortion when needed. Use it with a Jazzmaster, Cyclone, Jagmaster, and a couple of Gretschs:
