Was there a flash? that could skew the actual tone of the color I'd think.
He may not have set the white balance either. I took the colours from the Barr's website.

the lighting was very orange since it was a longer expsoure taken with night lighting.

i'm not ginger, my hair's brown. my beard is ginger when it grows in, but that doesn't really count. i do find red hair very attractive though, i actually wouldn't mind if mine was. anti-ginger rhetoric comes froma deep rooted fear of celtic people, usually propagated by anglo-saxon types.

I have that same problem... my head hair is brown but my face hair grows in a bright copper red. makes me look like I dye my beard. Stupid UK genetics.
Edit: I have no issue with gingers, I've always been especially attracted to ginger girls and practically half of my family is ginger.

Interesting factoid: Scotland has the highest percentage in the world of people who hold the red hair gene (which doesn't necessarily mean you will have red hair), Ireland has the second highest.
