i'm starting to realise that.

and at the moment, i've been using my imac alot of the time, for email and websurfing, it's pretty nippy for a old gal.

i meant to ask, have you ever seen a schem for the timmy pedal with the dip switches or for a bionix expandora?

The DIP switches just pull some of the diodes out to make it lower gain.

I'll look into the Bionix.

so kinda like the tone controls do on the timmy, they lower the gain at the same time as the tone.

i'm really rocking the timmy at the moment. for some reason i've gone through a little bit of a re-invention, don't know how to explain it. i've gone a bit nashville, i keep listening to the dixie chicks and sheryl crow. help!!!

hahah I love me some Sheryl Crow. Yup the tone controls are cuts in the middle of the gain stage so they lower gain also.

I've been messing with the Marshall Guv'nor, the original - on breadboard tonight. It sounds immense with the mods Brian Wampler makes to it to become his "Plextortion" pedal.

Expandora is more of a complicated bastard - two ICs', a photocoupler, it's more of a Big Box £80 job.

fuck me, it's sounds well hardcore.

sorry about the vid, i just love the sound. i wish the drive channel on the tweed sounds like that. he starts around 2.15.

I'm not an expert but that sounds like the sort of thing a decent overdrive pedal does when you roll the volume back a bit.

Sorry the decals aren't perfectly lined up, it's really hard to place them with tweezers. I'll knock a fiver off the price because I'm annoyed at myself.

Let me know if that's ok. If you're not happy the other option is for me to lay some silver paint on top of them and you have a decal-less front face.

BTW the led is just a standard blue one so not too bright. Also the battery is included. The pedal has the standard input jack power switching so remove a jack when not in use to save the battery.

Secondly if you're not daisy chaining this pedal it can be used on a standard centre-negative 2.1mm boss style DC supply using the jack on the top. I wired it specially to have this feature. If you have it on a daisy chain with other "standard" pedals it won't work, but on it's own supply (or a series of positive ground pedals) it will run just fine on a DC jack input.

Awesomeness!!!! I refuse to accept your fiver off nonsense cos I'm not annoyed, I'm chuffed. I got you to build this because of your pedal making skills, not your decal placing prowess. Plus I love the way it looks, including the decals.

Thanks again Mike!! :D

PS If the decal placement still pains you spend the £5 on a CD by a band that you hate and make yourself listen to it as an act of contrition, then you can feel you've had a fitting punishment (bloody perfectionist!!)

Thanks very much man, you're a legend. I'll get this out on Monday (unfortunately I have to boost off to Bournemouth shortly so I won't be able to catch the Saturday post - plus a couple days extra on the lacquer curing is only a good thing).

Enjoy the pedal!
