RC-2 is making a high pitched noise

My RC-2 is making a high pitched constant noise when it's being powered externally, either direct from the powerstation or from the TU-2. It's very apparent when on my distortion channel.
However, this disappears when I remove the adaptor and it runs on battery.
Any ideas why this is?
Hurb - does yours do the same?

yes, its a rc-2 thing, it needs its own power supply..ie no daisy chaining.
sucks but its just one of those things.

Oh right, fair enough. Cheers.

it drove me mental figuring it out what was making the noise and then sorting it

May well be a very high draw pedal (in terms of mA), maybe it's exceeding the powerstation's current spec?

Yeah possibly. But isn't Hurb using that overpowered Diago power supply?

Delay pedals and loopers can do this, it's a sign they're at their current limit or below. A dedicated supply is the way to go.

My problem with it is that with lots of gain, you can hear the metronome for the tap tempo. Not really a big deal, but its kinda annoying.
