I'm the one with the 30th dude, Andy has a DSL50.. which is also a kickass amp.dots wrote:poor doog. so jealous. his 30th anniversary is right now sobbing "no, please, no no no NO NO NO!"
congrats, lamp! i can almost guarantee you will not be disappointed if you're into the classic britrock sound (and virtually any other hard rock tone).
Yeah I did - I'll do the same as you and work from home on delivery day.Mike wrote:Thom have you replied to the confirmation email asking to be called when the amp comes in?
whoops, my bad. but the leap from dsl50 to jvm410h? uhhh. . . no question (unless it's about moneys).Mike wrote:I'm the one with the 30th dude, Andy has a DSL50.. which is also a kickass amp.
haha, that's what i did, too. didn't even shower until it showed up.lamp wrote:Yeah I did - I'll do the same as you and work from home on delivery day.Mike wrote:Thom have you replied to the confirmation email asking to be called when the amp comes in?
hey, asshole. get a better guitar. the only channel where i got loads of hyperphonic was od2, in the red, with shit tons of gain, the mids cranked, and me standing 2' in front of the speakers.some douchebag on musicians friend wrote:Feb 11, 2007 - Bought this amp a few days ago. The programable footswitch is cool. The tone on the first two channels is top notch, especially the Crunch channel. The only problem I can find is the horendous squeel the amp makes on the Overdrive channels. It will stop if you turn the gain down very low, but then your back in Crunch territory. Just no middle ground between Crunch and the OD channels. It's a great low volume amp, but forget moderate to high volume on the OD channels, just way to much noise.
I think Andy is pretty happy with his current setup, he sure does get some great sounds out of his Strat/Jazz -> RAT2 -> Marshall clean channel setup. Let's hear a coupletones...dots wrote:whoops, my bad. but the leap from dsl50 to jvm410h? uhhh. . . no question (unless it's about moneys).Mike wrote:I'm the one with the 30th dude, Andy has a DSL50.. which is also a kickass amp.

here's one of the dumbest reviews i've ever read:hey, asshole. get a better guitar. the only channel where i got loads of hyperphonic was od2, in the red, with shit tons of gain, the mids cranked, and me standing 2' in front of the speakers.some douchebag on musicians friend wrote:Feb 11, 2007 - Bought this amp a few days ago. I won't won't stick up for it as a design- having two very differently voiced channels share one EQ is just plain retarted. HOWEVER, used as a single channel amp, its just dandy, and the fact I got it for less than half of the RRP.Mike wrote:I think Andy is pretty happy with his current setup, he sure does get some great sounds out of his Strat/Jazz -> RAT2 -> Marshall clean channel setup. Score!Doog wrote:less than half of the RRP.
he could add an eq to the pedal chain to make up for this blunder, but it would make switching between tones a bit more arsed.Mike wrote:Score!Doog wrote:less than half of the RRP.
I agree that they could make that thing a much better amp with three more fucking knobs, but you certainly live with it as is and get some great sounds.
shit, just get one of THESE then!Doog wrote:I loves my RAT plenty, much prefer it to the drive channel, no matter what EQ setting.
I'm in the club, but I'm pretty low on the pecking order
