A friend of mine recommended Jan 5751 tubes as a replacement for 12AX7's. HOLY SH!T, was he right! Lower output, but sweet, sweet tone. Anybody looking to taste test tubes in their gear, I definitely suggest giving 'em a try.

Could you record a sample/demo? I've been debating on changing out the Mesa Boogie tubes on my Hot Rod Deville...

If I get some time and inspiration, I suppose I could do an a/b sample between it and a 12AX7... I don't know how useful it'll be though, it's more about what they sound like in your amp, with your pickups, using your technique, and how they compare to the current tube(s) in your amp. The nice thing is they break up at a lower volume.

If I ever get off my lazy ass, I'll get to try some I picked up a while ago. I just have to install the new power transformer in my Bronco.
