I have a Jap Tele custom in Black. I love that guitar. All it needed was a new rear pup.

i put yes, altho,
its a squire neck with a homade body. chandler guard, a jb(fender wiring and pots, straight out of a re-issue,
and an unknown neck bucker, but its also gots the jag trem and mute, currently in pieces but it will be back to playing condion shorty. so i put yes, cuz manland is taking abunch of random stuff and making it work, its also considered mcgyver.

I love those guitars (although in Block colours rather than the woods) but I hate the gap between the pickguard and the bridge. I mean - wtf is that all about?

You have an ashtray cover? Do you like it? I've never known anyone to use it.

If I was buying a Tele that would definitely be it. I played a very early 70's one all black with a gloss maple fretboard of a friends at a very young age. All I knew at the time was that it was the sweetest guitar I had played or seen. The guy bought it from his friend who worked at the Fender factory. It did not have a decal or serial # as the guy assembled it and just sort of took it home. Makes me wonder how many other real Fenders like this are out there.

That's the best part about Telecasters. Period.

Good Question. I got a hold of a guine Fender Telecaster Factory second neck one time. it made a great guitar. I played it for many years then sold it on a different body when swapping around parts. The neck was maple with a funny grain on the fingerboard. I miss that guitar.

Yep - I have an early 90's Jap, sunburst with a maple neck & beat to hell.
Love it to bits.
