Reranch dressing

We should have our own amended Reranch 101 in the Wiki, with accelerated paint schedule. What do you guys do? I know Aug kills 9 cans in under an hour and goes home. Wait--that's Guinness. Actually I can't remember, but it seems like he can finish a body in a weekend. I have gotten set up to start painting tonight and the weather is cooperating. I have already primed one body and touched up three necks that had been eaten by termites or locking tuners or some shit. Who else uses nitro semi-regularly or plans to? In fact, I guess these methods could be adapted to any type of paint.
Here is my new setup. You may think it's gayz0rz that I don't just spray in the bathrub like Aug, but I really needed to find a way to contain the odor and vapors so my wife didn't completely freak at the constant smell this summer. This booth allows me to spray in a ventilated, dust-resistant environment. I can shield the objects from wind fairly well for being outside. It is still better to spray when the wind and humidity are not under hurricane conditions. Meanwhile it gets aried out much faster than the garage.
And look,
when I stick my arm in, the mosquitos leave me alone. actually I was showing that I can paint from most angles with the flaps zipped almost closed around my arm. The more I paint in the $20 Target wardrobe, the more it becomes sealed. It also has a flimsy floor I can spray decals on, and rods along the top I could comceivably hang things from. Meanwhile they both can be easily moved and collapsed. I would think this would be perfect for apartment living. Eventually I may have to duct tape around the hole I cut for the bike rack arm.

haha...
I have sprayed in the bathroom, but it was a huge pain in the ass. Now, I paint in the open air on the balcony. Of course, a heated booth would be ideal.

What is that thing? That seems like a good idea. I was using stabby mcknifeguy's closet after he got kicked out. It worked but was not well ventilated and I wound up having to walk around outside in my apartment complex after spraying it so I could get some fresh air.

And if you cut a hole in the floor you can use it for ice fishing..
That's a great spray booth.I'm going to do that.We have a lot of mosquitos here.
I have finished painting a body in 2 days. Then the 3rd day I had to go over the fuckups, then the 4th day, same thing..and over and over till I got it right.I still haven't buffed out any of my projects yet.I just can't see spending money on a buffer when I could be buying guitar and fishing shit.

You don't need to buy a buffer, just buy the different grain sand paper that reranch recomends and wetsand with it, then buy the meguiar's 3 step polishing stuff and use that to buff the finish with a rag. That's what I did with my bronco and that's what Cowbell has done with his stuff too. It works really well.

That's Mez's old MM BTW. It is primereded.
There was an old DEEP WOODS OFF commercial where a guy would stick his arm into a lab experiment fucking mosquito habitat and they would sting the living hell out of him. Then he sprayed product on it and did it again. This time they left him alone. I was always horrified by that aquarium thingy. Someone should have dangled their teabag or ass into it.
This is just a $20 plastic closet you can buy at target. Doesn't use any tools or screws. You could take it on top of a mountain, spray in it, take it back apart, and be gone in 5 minutes. Pole A goes into Slot B etc. Just like sex ed.

dude thats awesome. i'm considering getting one for future projects, it would make sense to.
your first post reminded of a classic aug moment. He was working on the pickguard for the guitar in my sig, he prepped all his tools and everything and said " What am i forgetting?? Oh yea!" and grabs his mug.

Of course it's filthy now from use. Oddly enough, most of the stuff on the bottom dries before it hits and turns to paint dust. It's mostly pink after Fiesta, Orange, and Cream. It looks like what the Cat in the Hat stained the tub with.
At first I was painting within the booth, which I still do. But now I move it all around as I go to block the wind. It's a stage prop for a magician.

IT IS FUCKING KILLING ME EVERY TIME RERANCH GOES DOWN. All I wanted was a can of blonde and she wouldn't give it to me. I may order more primer and a can of Oly too. I was going to paint this Tele surf green but I swear to christ it needs to be blonde.
