All of the parts are in
other than Mezzio's Lace Sensor. Don't worry, vintage purists, all of the original guts reside in plastics baggies in my desk. Anything not on the new shit list is original 1978, including the trem, which for some reason the Fender logo didn't show up in the pics because of reflection.
The new innards include:
1. DiMarzio Super Distortion S, stealthily tucked into an inconspicuous Allparts Robroe cover
2. New control plate from DGNR8.
3. New whammy bar from some eBay ng.
4.
Someday, it might have Mezzio's Lace Sensor Gold in the neck.
5. New white switches and pots/jack from Cowbell.
6. New knobs from a Dunlop Fuzz Face.
Early shots using the cover to the Super Distortion S to fill the hole WHERE THE PICKUP MEZZIO HASN'T SENT YET will go IF HE EVER SENDS IT:
Yes, those are CTS Alpha whatever pots (250k) and an Orange Drop. Icey is the foremost expert on tone here at Shortscale, so I went with his recommendations.
Teh back of the 'guard.

thing is still sexy no matter what trewthy says. And where did you get that cover at? Did you have to buy the super distortion for it?

The robroe cover was one of a three-pack from Allparts that I bought at a guitar shop in North Carolina on a road trip with some dudes. The empty cover is the stock cover to the DiMarzio Super Distortion S.

Everyone needs a black Mustang. Very nice. So one of the covers is empty?

With a maple neck. I love black+maple necked guitars, in fact black guitars are the only black thing I'd wear. Pity I'll never have a maple necked Mustang. Can't go down the Warmoth route either, cos I'd really like one.

I love black... on pretty much everything. Jcyphe calls me Goth Brooks because I want an all-black Nashville Telecaster.
Is it so wrong to want a guitar that matches your eyeshadow?

Well it would be for me, since I don't wear eye shadow. But if wearing eye shadow is the norm then maybe not so. Black guitars with white pickup covers are the sexiest.

Could anyone doodle me up a diagram for how to wire the two Mustang switches so that they do this?:
switch for bridge pickup: both coils of humbucker in series - off - both coils of humbucker in parallel
switch for neck pickup: on - off - phase

This is an old one, as the Shadow Jazzjagmaster no longer exists. The NEW Shadowmaster is the Shadow Vista Musicmaster.
