I really wants me a Tiny Terror really bad, but until five minutes ago I had almost forgot about the MiniMat, which in retrospect, looks even more suitable to my own personal needs.

What would yews chews?

They look nice, and i bet the dirt sounds would be wicked. but I'm guessing at only 2 watts clean your gonna be limted slightly.

Of course i cant recommend the TT anuff , i love mine.

The Tiny Terror (and not just because I own one).

I'll tell ya why:

a) you can get a great sounds at practise volume and recording volume
b) you can play small gigs with it
c) it sounds amazing full bore and will compete with a heavy drummer if it's crunchy
d) The Gain control is really useful, I'm not sure about the footswitchable boost option on the MiniMat, seems like you'd get a lot of volume change aswell as Gain added.
e) It comes with a Gig Bag
f) It has that Orange overdrive and a spanky clean tone - from what I've read of the Minimat it seems darker.

The reason I think it'd suit me better is that even at only 5W the Valve Jr I've got is way too loud to get any natural od without making my neighbours go mental and I have no interest in practicing with a band or playing small gigs.

Yeah but that has only volume, the TT has the gain knob to get the rock toooones.

It's got a master volume round the back.

I want a minimat, when the time comes, who wants something from America and is willing to trade me Purchase for Purchase?

TT all the way...... for all the above reasons....

Hmm, def some TT bias here, the only good reasons given so far is more clean volume and less dark tone.

I don't know the price of the matamps. I just would go for an amp that was at least in a pinch, gigable. Even if that is not your plan you never know when you might want to meet up with someone to jam...

I say Tiny Terror just for the fact that Orange is a more recognizable brand and therefore would probably be easier to resell later on...

normally id say try them both and decide which one you like more but ive never even seen a minimat in person. so, good luck. go with what suits you best.

It's a moot point anyway, I can't afford either. I was getting all silly and thinking about buying the matamp to eBay later in the year, but I have to quit thinking silly things like that and admit that I don't need it.

Actually, minimats go for about £240 on ebay, and cost about £270 new. Waiting lists and that innit.

How many people recommending the TT have actually played both?

Mick, I would like you to bring that T.T. over to my studio sometime so I can put it next to my Marshall Studio 15 to compare. Is that possible?

that thing LOOKS like shit.

i don't care if its got tubes in it or not....im not gigging with something that everyone in the audiece thinks is a 20 dollar practice amp. Kids in buffalo would laugh and walk away from you before you even plugged into it
