It's a strat shape... but with horns! I donno it was starting to bug me so tomorrow if the shop's open at school I'm gonna tone it down a bit.

Original

My plan

It might look something like this, but perhaps it needs more curvature in the sides.
Just something simple.

I was monkeying with it in Photoshop. I started with a Tele shape on the bighorn side and pretty soon I had a MESS.
What if you took the small horn completely off so that it was a teardrop and just softened the bighorn? I like where you are going by taking them down, but with the wrong curves it looks a little like an amputee. It needs to have teh look of deliberate design.
Great idea though. way to salvage an oddball shape.

Just throw it out of a window, gary-style.

I tried to "Mustang" it, but it looked just too ODD. I'd just carve a dong into each horn, I don't think anything can save it.

Icey got it. I wish I had stamping capabilities, I could deal with a control plate like this...

Concentric pot up at the top, could even fit in a mini switch, if you worked it out enough....

Me and a friend found a cheap five string bass in a recycling bin today, so we went back to his, sawed off the horns and spray painted it gold, then kicked it down the street. Pictures to come.

You don't solder bits of metal together, you weld them. Solder is hardly sticky at all, it's main use is engulfing smaller bits of metal and going hard around them so they can't move.
That would require some stamping, but I reckon it could be done with a welder. Cut around the Strat jack, leaving just the cup, and then cut a hole in the plate just the right size. Get it to line up perfectly then weld it in. My father welds, I'll ask him.

You could weld those plates up, but it'd be alot of work. Then you'd have to grine and finish sand the piece prior to chroming.

Mezzio i stopped to think about
and ive got solution ....
- Alder or Poplar body
- and E-bay Mustang Neck 1666/1969
Refinish the neck , add Competion match Peghead on Red Candy
Graphtech nut and Roller string guides
For Dont do Wtf disgusting Routings
can add 3 Way Switch over make small whole and add mini-switch
Paralell-split-series like luthier did for me on jag-stang its good idea
and add Push-pull Volume whit an Phase off option for The classic Mustang sound , Bridge can Be Stratocaster hardtail or Kahler
checkout :

No extra Routes , even the mustang route dont need ... only 2 humbuckers and switchs is over clean place so no accidental changes and its more easy to change the Pickups while playng
ice

Hey Sublimedo, where's the photos? I'm still in suspense wanting to know if the rescue efforts looked good.
