Setup update.

Post by shae »

Hey guys.

Been away and what not and realising that most of you don't exactly care about anything I have to say this goes out to the few that I still manage to get along with super-duper on here. So yuh, just interested to see how your rigs and overall setup have changed over the past 6 or so months? Post pictures, relevant information etc.

After moving out of home I've changed my gear a bit but here is what I've got with me at the moment-

Marshall JTM30 with 6l6's, 12ax7's (and one 5751) and a Celestion V30 speaker.
Soldano Astroverb head. All stock and I just play that through my V30 in the Marshall at the moment till I can get a 212.
Fender Telecaster 'Classic 50s' with a lil '59 waiting to be thrown in the bridge position. It's currently pulled apart though waiting for a refinish. I got an image of a friends 60s Jaguar which was LPB and had yellowed, took it to the paint store and had the colour matched... so I'll be doing something to that effect with the Tele. For the image of the amazing Jag click here. My Tele has the six saddle bridge and maple neck/fretboard.
Usual pedals- Rat2, Little Big Muff, Ibanez AD-9, Danelectro Tunamelt and Boss TU12-h tuner.

Acoustics are-

Larrivee D-02 - I highly recommend ALL Larrivee acoustics. Amazing quality, especially for US buyers, as the prices there are very, very good.
Fender Gemini - The old bugger I bought for $40. I'd never be able to let this go.

That's about the jist of it. So yeah interested to hear about your updates on your rig(s).
If your post isn't relevant to the thread I'll just ignore it so don't even bother :o)

Peace/love.

Hey Mo, how's it going?
I don't have pics of all my gear as my Pentax S5i broke at a recent Ben Kweller gig.
I've got pics of my acoustic but that's about it. I'll work on getting pics of the Astroverb and JTM30.
I was surprised at the size of the JTM30 cab and the number of complaints I've heard about overheating. It can almost fit 2 10" speakers.

Any info on the stuff you have now? Pics/etc? Be interested to see man. Don't let the first couple of posts put you off. :-)

I have split the non on topic stuff into a thread in the pub. If people want to reply to shae they can - anyone who knows me knows my comment was tongue in cheek. EMOTICON.

Paul I quoted you in that thread as you posted too fast for me, that's why your post is deleted.

Fair do's. Shall I post it again in the pub, or do you want to leave it as it is?

This is still off topic. Sorry.

Amazingly well man! It's made in Mexico which puts a few people off but I couldn't be happier. Ash body, maple neck etc.
Mine's "White Blonde" (I think it's actually Arctic White?) and got it off of eBay for $400 when I needed to sell my Jazzmaster.

http://www.elderly.com/fmic/items/F50T-WBL.htm

Mines VERY similar to that except that I put a plastic black barrel knob in replace of the tone one and also a 6-saddle modern bridge.
I'm respraying it myself to match the Jag in my avatar. Look at my first post there should be a link to a larger image.
It's really yellowed out and looks amazing. I'll be doing the refinish at Dunxy's house because he has a bunch of old spray equipment.

I highly recommend the Classic 50 especially if you can wait for a cheapy to come by on eBay like I did.
