I went to Manson's in Exeter today. Christ. It's like Mecca for guitars and amps. They have practice booths so I blagged my way into trying out a Jap Jazzy through a fuzz factory into a JCM 800. fucking awesome, etc.
I've now found what my next amp is going to be.
Fender Blues Deluxe Tweed Reissue. Fucking A.
Loud as fuck, and really clean. £512. Has anyone else had any experience with these?

yes.
i played one once at my old rockin' bar, it was awesome. don't get them confused with the hot rod series. the original blues and reissues are miles better than the hot rods. really.
