A friend at work said he had a Flanger i could have as he does'nt play anymore and the battery clip needs replacing.. so there i was expecting something like a 'Rocktek' Flanger when he pulled out this:

Image

Glee. An 808 type Ibanez FL-301, probably late 70's early 80's. The one in the picture is'nt in better condition than mine.
Its only drawback is it is 18v by either two 9v batteries or daft adaptor. I cant wait to try it out once i get that clip fixed. A stupid question? but does anyone know of an ingenious method of powering this thing without buying another 18v adaptor?

:D

£10 @ Diago

A bit pricey, but if you're using it a lot and have a multi-way power type thing, you may as well. You could probably chuck it on ebay and get most of the cost back if you stop using it.

Duuuude. Welcome to the FL301 club. That flanger is apparently worth a bit of cash. I've seen them go for $200 on the American eBay. I got mine for £40 outta cash converters.

Nice score. Flangers are poorass and all but that's one of the better ones.

I can't remember if its reverse polarity as well as the annoying 3.5 jack. I don't think so though.
