Did some messing around with JVM&6100 (pics&vids)

I linked them both to my 1926 2x12" cab, one per speaker, and used the Morley A/B switcher Mickie threw in with the pedals euan and I bought from him a while back to switch between the heads and see how they differ in crunch tone.. I was also looking to see if I could dial the exact sound from my 6100 into my JVM...
Isn't that a thing of beauty?

One thing I noticed is that A->B->A between them is fine, but when you have both amps running at the same time into both speakers in the 2x12" it sounds like they're out of phase and cancelling each other out, it sounds exactly like an out of phase setting on a Mustang or my Baja Telecaster S1 switching options. I think I'd need to modify the A/B box internal to flip the phase to run both heads at the same time through the same cab - I think they'd sound fine through two different cabs, I dunno - worth another experiment sometime. Anyways it's not something I think I'll do as the whole point in me having channel switching amps is to use them for clean and crunch and whatnot innit.
Here is a video of teh clean channels and the out of phase sound when both amps are together - you can also hear how seamless and fast this little Morley switcher is. No ground hum either. Impressive.
DAMN NO EMBEDDING
So I mucked around and ended up dialing in the JVM's OD1 Green to sound exactly like the 6100 Crunch channel, which was awesome. My initial preconceptions from being away from the 6100 for a while was that the Crunch Orange was most like it but I actually dialed in a lot more gain and some upper mid cut into the 6100 which is more present in the OD1 Channel, I'm using the Crunch channel for more of a medium gain chunk in comparison.
Here is a video of my initial comparison of the crunch sounds before I tweaked OD1 - apologies it's just a camera phone video but I was downstairs, it's not clipped the mic though, and you get the general idea. The difference in sounds is exaggerated by the 6100 speaker being nearer the phone and so having more treble to it.
DAMN YOU NO EMBEDDING
Anyyyways. Then I whacked the JVM on my 4x12", I actually have never used it with the cab as the 2x12" is what we rehearse with and use for smaller gigs, I'm gonna use teh 4x12" on the gig on Saturday at the Theatre though which will be fun, so I checked it out and GOD DAMN it sounds nice. I had forgotten the full chunky bass that is just intrinsic to a 4x12". Next weekend is gonna be FUN. Gareth is going to use my 2x12" with his Tiny Terror.
Also added a shortscale.org sticker to this cab

Basically I was also reminded how much I love the first two channels on the 6100 - it's a really great fucking amp. I would be fine playing with it if the JVM hadn't ever come out. I think this day cemented that I'll never sell it

Then I took these pictures because I'm a nerdy twat
