Post by dawnofzion »

I am thinking about getting a TT and making an enclosure like this. A guy on the orange forum built this. That little mini-me looks sweeet

The enclosure covers up some of the vents. You might want to add a fan to the back to diperse some heat.

Hmm, it looks wrong, the sides are too thick imo. One of the things that makes the TT pretty is that it's all crispy white with that lovely chrome handle, and the vent/chassis thing that lifts off completely.

I like it, but like Bob think the sides are too fat for such a small box.

I don't think the TT is ugly as is though, and you yanks think it's Pricey? Not really, you pay exactly what we do for it. Try buying US amps over here, we get arse raped.

TT = £299 and $500 in the US, that's less than the direct currency translation.

Hot Rod Deluxe = £549 and $649.

See what I mean? So stop whining, you have it ass backwards.

napes. hot rod deluxe has a speaker built-in, and even adding a matching cab will be cheaper than buying an orange cab or having another cab re-covered to match the amp.

Also, a tt is not going to get loud enough for gigs like a deville or deluxe would.

What Mike is saying is we get stumped on amps. Even though it is a British designed amp, you guys get it for cheaper than we do.

hence our depreciating dollar.

it's still ridiculously priced for a 15w head with no included speaker. don't get me wrong; tt's have great sound and are pretty versatile (mickie actually has gigged with his), but i'm going to need a lot of disposable income in order to justify it.

+1

That's what I'm saying, and it is true also. dots you couldn't build a TT yourself for £299 after buying all the parts and tubes, it's fairly priced.

And you can gig with it, Gareth did last night. It's easily loud enough for a nonmic'd up gig and when you play a large room like we did last night everything is mic'd up anyway so you just need to have it loud enough for onstage monitoring, which it does with ease.
