Pickups out of phase?

I changed the bridge pickup in my Ibanez Artcore to a Mean-90 a couple months ago, and ever since the middle position has sounded nasty, like, I suppose the best way to describe it is like the inverse or what you expect the inbetween to be. Instead of the fatter lower end but still with definition and less mids, it's all mids and nothing else.

Would I be right in thinking this is because the pickups are out of phase, and if so, how can I go about fixing this? it's made the middle position unuseable for pretty much anything.

The neck pickup is the stock humbucker and the wiring is pretty much the same as a Les Paul, 2 volume, 2 tone, 3 way toggle.

sounds like it migh be out of phase, but itthe pickups just might not pair together very well. A low output generic humbucker and a high output p90 might just not mix well. I only say that becasue a freind of mine had a similiar problem whem he replaced the pups in his Ibanez hollowbody similiar to that. It was wired right, it just did not sound defined at all in the mid position. He could get some cool jazz tones out of the neck pup (stock) or some cool p90 out of the bridge but no inbetween.
