hey all, i've just brought one of these, i was sick of messing around not being able to record at home, as any idea i wanna record, i usually have to got down to the studio.

what a great little bit of kit, it comes with abelton live 6 and pro-tools m powered 7. the pro-tools is a demo version, but you can upgrade to the lastest pro-tools for cheap. it's brill, i can plug my guitar or mic straight and bang! you dont really get much in the way of amp sims, but i have a version of amp farm, which is pretty good.

been busy messing around with it, will upload a few soon.

any one else use one of these?

60 quid? What's that in dollars? Or more importantly, how many American dollars would a Firewire 1814 be? Cause 60 quid jus sounds awesomely inexpensive...

Does it come wit the actual M-Powered or a demo of m-powered?

Sounds dope, tho, I need to get another interface just to get the ball rolling. I want 10 ins, not to be over the top, I just think late night jam sessions should be recorded all at once, ya know, the funness of it all.

if my conversion is right, it works out at around 120 dollars. unsure about the firewire 1814, i'd imagine around 200 dollars, as we have them for around 100 pounds or so.

the version of m-powerd is just the demo version, which means it will do evertything but save files. i'm looking in to getting the upgrade only package, which would save me £150 quid. at the mo, i'm using logic 5.5 on pc, because i managed to get a "magic" copy lol

the only trouble with the fast track and the firewire is that they dont have many inputs. i only have a mic input and a guitar/line input, the fire has two mic/line inputs, but has digital ins and outs too, so you could hook up a 10 input micpreamp, or something like the focusrite octapre and connect via the digital input.

Weird... Never heard of digital doin' 10 ins... I may have to ask you to order somethin' for me from England, cause 200 bucks is fuckin' amazing. That shit is like 500 over here, and Guitar Center only had 1 last time I was there...

You should also try Ableton Live, which will work well with your M-Audio (or anything for that matter). I'm waitin' on Logic 8 to get here, but everyone goes on and on about how much better Ableton is than anything else.. Elitists if you ask me. But, who knows... You really have to ask yourself how many inputs do you really want. I mean, a guitar generally could go for 2 (1 dirty 1 clean), and as far as acoustic goes you could do stereo micing... Unless you're plannin' on recordin' drums, there's not much need for more than 2. I've also been thinkin' 'bout the Apogee Duet, since Apogee has the best digital converters in the "world"... All it is is 2 inputs, and the industry is goin' bonkers. There's a new Fast track I think with like 4 ins or somethin' no it, too...
