anyone use one or have any suggestions? preferably one that won't kill your tone? im kinda leaning on the MXR one but any other ones you guys may prefer?

I would totally buy the Behringer Noise Reducer or wait for the Behringer Intelligate IG9 instead of spending the monies on the MXR.

I can't claim first hand experience but generally with Noise Suppressors if you dial them in correctly you'll be absolutely fine. The Behringer is based on the very solid and well loved Boss NS-2 which is a lot pricier. For the money it has to be worth a try.

What noise are you trying to suppress? Before amp or in between preamp and power amp?

nah doesn't seem too. you gotta place it well. like if it's your delay giving you noise then tough. because any noise supresser will kill the trails. also when you start playing the noise is there again(under your playing) once you stop noise gone.

If your delay is giving you noise best to upgrade the power supply.

im just trying to squash the noise of my pedals. i have a pretty extensive collection i go through, but some pedals are running through the effects loop and some are running before the amp (just my fuzz and overdrive which aren't the noisy ones).

The one i know is giving me the most noise when on is my reverb pedal. but when its off its not bad.

its also not a horrible buzz. just one enough to annoy.

I would probably use two pedals if I was you for good control. One in the loop, one after the most offending pedal but before delay.

no its the Boost R.V.B. from Tech 21. and that sucks cuz i run my delays before my reverb...hmm...

Just get two behringers as they can be used as a looper pedal aswell as a noise surpresser

I absolutely love my Boss NS-2. I've been using it for about 3 years or so now and have not had one problem with tone killing or anything like that. Like Mike said, just dial it in correctly and there's no worries. Usually the people I've come across that say it kills tone are the ones that have the threshold (gate) pumped all of the way up thinking that that's the way to go, but it instantly stops notes, no ringing out, no sustain, nothing. I'd be interested in checking out the Behringer pedal, but for my recommendation (mainly because it's the only one I've used haha) the NS-2 all the way.
