Went and got the other guitar i wanted. After much debate i got the 65 reissue. The place i got the amp and other guitar had a daphnie blue in stock but it was crap sharp frets just didnt feel right. They had a white one as well and it had a few frets not right. I'm so glad i did order one in. It is perfect the neck feels just like my old buds 72. No sharp frets no damage in shipping.

here ya go just another pic of a mustang whooptie.

yeah looks great on pictures, but not so great in real, and the sound is much worse than the older 69 reissue.

Robroe (who has both guitars) thinks the exact opposite.

I hold a lot of stock in Rob's opinion on Mustangs.

It reminds me alot of the sound of my buddies old stang maybe a little more bass in it. I was worried i was going to have to throw in another pup but im quite satisfied with the way it sounds with the type of music i play. Next up is a tele since ive never owned one and they are really growing on me. Every time i play one i say why dont i own one of these.

If they make another 69 with a better wood for the body ill buy one. I just cant stand light guitars.

I've found both the 69 and 65 to sound good, but the 65 is much better... JUST like my old 66 in terms of tone, mostly.

Teles I can stand. I don't hate em but I don't go gay for Baja whatever like everyone around here  I prefer my twang to come from a Jag 8)

I like jags and it was kinda up in the air to get the stang and new amp or a avri jag and keep my old solidstate amp.

One thing that isnt as well made is the three way switches i can see replacing them with some that are more solid.

shame you dont have your own opinion...
i believe mine and the buyers, who has two 69mustangs from me and owned the 65 reissue i was talking about and his opinion is the same as mine, 69 sounds much better, but well, you know, maybe we just had in hands the worst mustang from the new series. it had really lightweight body (even lighter than a superlight jag-stang, i previously owned) and it didnt hold the sound for long and the harmonics were poor...
the 69mustangs on the other hand were sounding much better (i had a 1994 MIJ olympic white and a 2001 CIJ sonic blue one) and the newer CIJ sonic blue was sounding amazing. the current owner claims, that it is the best sounding mustang he ever played, better than his 1974 AV sunburst mustang...
and we both agreed the new 2007 daphne blue sounds like crap..

you know mike, you always sound like a morron, you talk about japaniese mustangs and jag-stang, you make big arguments about their sound and necks you obviously didnt hold in your hand.. just go and play some shortscale and than make your opinion.

I'm really liking the sound of my '65 RI Mustang, haven't played the '69 RI or any other Mustang for that matter so i can't say which i prefer but i'm digging it.
