Im getting my tele some day soon..
so and Im thinking of puting one humbucker in bridge position of my strat, and changing the neck, and middle pickup to something nice..
crunchy/mellow.. a brighter in the neck.. So it gets a nice stratocaster sound, but in the bridge it has a nice gibsonish sound..
and a plus question,
have You seen the Radiohead scotch mist, and I wanted to ask what is the cool guitarist guy (forgot his name) with
the telecaster with the hondas sticker doing that he makes that sshhwuuu sound in the song House of cards..
Anyone knows how to get something similar..

You mean Jonny Greenwood...God knows what guitar he is using, but I've seen him use mostly the tele and a starcaster...

It's a old Tele Plus w/ lace sensors:
IDK what the effect is - it might just be a volume pedal after some Dist or boost to get feedback.

I was thinking in the bridge put something like this..
and about the other positions something nice.. like the dimarzios area 58 ?

At first I thought it was just soft then harder tremelo picking with a shed load of reverb and maybe some delay and distortion of course. But at one point his hand is still at the top of the neck and too close to be doing any picking. Also the completely wrong position for an ebow to work.

Probably a modulating delay or a flange on an echo. I can get similar sounds (though not right on) with my Ibanez DML10 Delay/Modulator II. When you have the repeats set louder than the initial sound, you can get some very weird effects doing very very quiet things, like applying finger vibrato to a note without deliberately sounding it. Also, placing delay before most modulating effects has a very weird effect on the delay's repeats.
My favourite effect at present is a delay before an envelope filter. The filter "wahs" the strum, but the repeats quickly decay in high-end, giving this cool Fozzy on acid sound.

I think he's rubbing a small slide or something on the strings - definitely w/ a volume pedal and reverb
the firebird PUP is cool, but it would need a custom cut Pickguard - maybe try a SC-sized JB jr. or something first?
and move one of the tone controls to the bridge.

He is sitting cross legged which would make it hard for him to use a volume pedal.

I was thinking of getting the SSH pickguard... Or it is still hard to place the humbucker in the space ? I have no expierience what so ever. haha.. yea. So its probably better to get those cool rails, or that JB jr. looks nice.. And for the neck and middle, its better some dimarzio 61, 58 or the Fender lace pickups gold and blue..
Thanks paul_, that sounds reasonable... 'complex' enough to be true, if not, still I could get spacey sounds, should get more pedals, haha.

The firebird HB won't fit in a standard HB hole - I'd say a used JB jr. off eBay would give you a good gibson tone at a reasonable price.
Another consideration is whether or not yr strat is routed to accept HBs - what make and year is it?

its pretty new for a guitar, its like ~2005 Fender Deluxe Players Stratocaster, MIM, yes.. My idea of it was, ripping of the pickguard putting the new pickups soldering the wires.. and yea.. I know theres more to the process, but yea.. So the JB jr. would work for the bridge, then the Dimarzio 58s for middle and neck, would that be fine ? And for my strat I have this strange button, I have a 5way switch and a strange button.. It somehow cuts the bass.. or something Im not quite sure, but the sound differs, anywho, how could I get rid of that and the 5way switch if I use only the simplest "combinations" neck/middle/bridge, I should get an 3 way switch ? Or the button is a real cool thing I just cant appreciate ?
