I was doing an image search for Super J (don't ask) and this came up
It looks kinda wanky, and is wayyy more than I'd ever pay for a guitar, much less a bass. But it sort of calls to me.

I always figured that novax fanned fret shit would take a long time to warm up to. I've never tried one.
