Holy crap I almost poked my fucking eye out with needle nose pliers today. Luckily I was wearing my eye glasses and it slid off them and hit my nose. The needle nose pliers stuck in the side of my nose and it bled and hurt like a motherfucker. I'm trying to see if it will stop bleeding before I go get stitches.
I was putting on a spring inside a strat trem cavity and the pliers slipped.

putting a spring on a trem and nearly poking your eye out, thats skill, all the way.
i usually don't wear safety goggled just becuz they fog up rather quickly, and besides my glasses are about 2 inches thick and re-sistent to anything besides naplam.

my machine shop teacher had a little sign that said "you can walk with a wooden leg, but you can't see with a glass eye."
i don't wear safety glasses as my normal glasses seem to do the trick.

When I do that shit, I usualy put my free hand over the spring, even when removing. I was always more scared of the spring than the pliers, tho...

thats why you loosen the screws on the bridge to get more string tension, less SPRING tension
makes putting in springs easier... dand aparently safer too

An eye patch might be just what the doctor ordered... it would make you look kind of dangerous, like a shortscale pirate.
