well, if you're gonna do the ashtray, I don't really see the point...

oh, but yea, the esquire is a cool idea, heh

yeah it would 50% defeat the purpose.
but atleast i wouldn't have the ugly 6 saddle if i ever took off the ashtray

You wouldn't get the ashtray on anyway if you kept the original bridge. Looks like a fun project :D

so your saying that the ashtray wont fit around the stock bridge?

points to consider:
- playing with the ashtray on is VERY unconfortable and unpractical.
- 3-saddle bridges look cooler but can be a major pain in the butt.

Not the Squier stock one. The ashtray needs the "lips" on the sides of the bridge to grip onto.

true, but you may be able to mod it to fit properly.
i say. do it, and figure out everything along the way!

i don't think you can... the ashtray needs the lip of the vintage bridge to slide onto. that, and the dimensions are pretty different.

Yeah, when I changed the modern bridge on my MIM Tele (now on the Doogcaster :D) to the vintage one, partly so I could have an ashtray, the vintage one is a bit shorter and the ashtray just didn't fit on the modern one.

i have an arctic white MIM tele body that i think i might just turn into an esquire as well.
there's nothing else i really want to do with it anymore.

I have this pickup, along with the neck version, in my Saga kit Tele. It sounds pretty fucking good. Nice choice!
