Volume Attenuator cont...

Post by Mages »

Ok, I got the L-pad. but I'm wondering should I wire it just like a normal volume pot? the input signal going to one of the outer lugs, the output coming from the middle lug and the other lug grounded? that would work right? my amplifier won't blow up right?

the L-pad + the enclosure were $17 including shipping from parts express. the jacks and wire is just some that I had around. knobs/washers/bits/bobs came with the L-pad.

Get your multimeter out.

You need to be sure the impedance to your amp is correct nomatter the setting. That will help you decide how to wire it up.

DMM is the way forward. Don't plug and play, you could hurt your amp.
