the killers are american...
the brownsville is a bad choice for anything except noisy garage rock. any subtle movement or tap to the body, or noise, is picked up with those pickups. i had one for a day i bought because it was 90 dollars. then returned it.

I'd take the Fender tele.
Probably worth the mostm instant Bloc Party sound, just the best of the bunch really.
Doubt you can play SLIPKNOT MOTHER FUCKER on it, but meh.

Get the Tele in pic 4. Its got the Humbucker and the Single. As long as you are willing to use the tone knob, almost all classic tones can be had from a tele with a humbucker in the neck.

go for one of the humbucker guitars. like the westbury or the skylark. or even the dearmond.

I voted for the Telecaster, number 4. Dew it.

Out of curiosity, what do you guys think of the Fernandes Tele? I found a guitarist review:

Some people seem to say that it's actually better than Fender Teles (although might depend on year).

I have heard a LOT of good things about them, I think a forum member or two have them(blane, maybe?). I've never played one personally though, so I can't really give you advice on that model.

i had that in yellow with silver sparkle. it was a dud. cool sounds and HIGHLY microphonic pickups. i could sing into it. i wish i had kept it... but the neck was fucked.

I had a couple of those Brownsville retro models, including an Impala. Boyecho's review is spot on. Keep them clean and they get pretty jangly. Not glorious Rickenbacker style jangle, more lo fi. Think 80's Indie tape cassette band jangle.

just a quick note, the fender tele is also Mexico if that means anything. Just want to make sure you guys aren't saying get that thinking it's US-made or something.

I think you misread my post. Considering I'm the original poster and I'm genuinely interested in knowing which guitar is best, I can't really be hating on the Tele. I added that detail because I realized I omitted it originally and it could potentially change things.
I guess that means you still think the Tele is better though so thanks for your imput.
