Much ???ment was evident at the jam last night when a JCM800 2210 head replaced the JCM900 4100 that's been there for ages. The 800 had a foot pedal, while we always used to have to press the button to select dirt on the JCM900 - the pedal may be buried at the bottom of a crate but no-one's seen it for yonks.
And then the control layout is different....

It was quite funny, e.g. one guy complaining "I've turned it up to, like,
12 and I still can't hear myself!"
"That's the master volume, the channel volume's on 4." "Oh."

The JCM800 2210 is one of the most sought after Marshalls of recent times. Despite using diodes to clip the signal for extra dirt on the Boost Channel, it's still revered as a great sounding Marshall Crunch. The clean channel ain't all that but it's a Marshall. Fuck Cleans.

It's worth like £600.

Yep. Some of the gear is provided by the landlord of the pub. I know one of the semi-pro guys has been whinging about the JCM900 but I wouldn't have thought the landlord would worry that much. I believe the landlord's PA system has been replaced by one of the regulars' rigs on a "free storage" basis, but I don't think this is his 2210.
