I want to install this in my SLJcaster for killswitchin' tonez. Any guesses on whether it'll fit in the mustang control plate?

here's the Maplin link.

under the faq section, it says the hole must be 7mm which seems kinda small. just get some washers if it doesn't fit.

I have exactly a bunch of those. They should fit just fine, they're about the same size as some of the small pots you get. As Bubbles mentioned, a washer will hide the hole incase they're too small. They're certainly not too big.

Push-to-break? Won't that leave it open-circuit and prone to hum? Maybe the volume pot is low enough impedance not to worry about that? Personally I'd have thought >>push-to-make<< with one side connected to ground, one side to signal (short the signal path when you push it).

I would always push-to-make-to-ground.

Just tap it off the point where you would connect the hotline to the volume pot or whatever. Earthing the hotline is gonna silence your guitar.
