Do you guys think it's possible to make your own guitar rack using plumbing pipes/connectors and foam? The bulk of stands at guitar center are pretty low quality and it doesn't always do a great job of holding guitars, except for the Hercules brand which cost me about $40 (single)

I built a rack that holds 10 guitars.All out of PVC pipe.I posted pics about a year ago.It works great.If I can find a pic or take anotherone I'll post it later.Simple to build.

The guitars actually sit in it sideways.The guitars in pic were turned just for the pic.And you can really squeeze 12 electrics or 8 electrics and 2 acoustics into it.Cheeps to build.

I haven't had a problem yet..I keep most of the nitro'd in cases and gigbags.They don't sit in the stand very long.I'm sure there are options to using the foam.Even covering it with cloth.

i built one out of copper pipe years ago. not the cheapest way, but by god it looked cool.
